Map image changed for the worse
#1
I use the ArcGIS base layer most frequently as it is the most recent and useful satellite imagery in my region of the layers available in the platform. However, today the map changed to a much lower resolution image that is harder to use - I'm not sure if it "updated" (I don't know how RouteConverter -- ESRI interact), or changed for some other reason. Is there any way to restore the previous imagery?

I guess you'll have to blame ESRI, apparently they changed/replaced their imagery.

I figured it was something like that, but I was also hoping to learn a little more about how RouteConverter interacts with the online satellite imagery from the host sources, in case there is a way to access older or potentially archived layers. Thanks anyways for your reply.

Search for a hidden folder .routeconverter on your machine, in its subfolder tileservers you will find mapservers.xml and overlayservers.xml. If you want to set up your own map sources create a file userservers.xml alongside these xml files using the schema of the mapservers.xml file.
