Move IQ von Map Jack
#1
Hello, does anyone knows how to open a GPX file on the ROUTE PLAN menu of moveiq?

i'm able to draw point by point a route using PLAN menu and after that download it to the GPS, but what i really want is to open internet routes from wikiloc on GPX or KML format, to later open it on move iq and upload then to the GPS.

The plan menu on moveiq only receives RTE format, and even with GPS babel software i cannot find the way to convert a GPX or KML to RTe succesfully.

It seems that the RTE format from moveiq is not the same RTE that GPS babel is building.

RTE from moveiq seeem to be a binary file (notepad) but RTE from babel is a simple TXT file

Help me please, kind regards,

You are correct the files produced by the Move IQ (and some similar devices sold under different brands) is in binary format. I have tried to convert the file with various software including RouteConverter and GPSBabel, but no success.

I have also tried to find some information about the file format used but no success either.

The only solution I can see is to reverse engineer the files produced and to write a converter for it.

If the guys at RouteConverter are interested I can assist by generating test files for them.
