When the grey tint covers the map you need to click on the map, drag to another place and release the mouse button. See here for details

The map freeze problem is in both versions and is fixed as you indicated above.
I am currently running the release version and it works OK
Both version will not quit, they have to be "Force Quit" to shut down
When you turn on select mode a grey tint covers the whole map area, when you click to select the target position it disappears.
This happens in both versions.
After selecting the target position I click on the insert new position button and the new position appears in the Position List box - V2.8.3
After selecting the target position I click on the insert new position button and the new position DOES NOT appears in the Position List box - prerelease version
Every thing else seems to work as it should.

I can help you but I am not a Mac expert just a user.

Hi,

Christian already tried to explain it...

The select box below the zoom slider can be used to select existing positions. Turn on the select mode. The grey tint appears. Put the cursor to one corner of a rectangle. Press the mouse button and keep it pressed. Move the cursor to the diagonal corner of a rectangle. Release the mouse button. All points inside the rectangle should be marked at the position list.

Positions can be created with the 'Star' buttom below the position list or with the mouse cursor at the map, right button click followed by 'Insert' at a context menu.
