Problem creating route for Garmin Colorado
#1
Hi!

I have tried to convert directions from Google Earth to a route for my Garmin Colorado 300.
This is what I have done:
  1. Created a route in Google Earth
  2. Saved the route as a KML file
  3. Imported KML file to RouteConverter
  4. Made a route of it
  5. Saved to GPX
  6. Moved GPX to my GPS

I can see the route in my GPS and I can select it and start following the route.
The problem is that the route is not complete. When I got half ways on the route no more positions are visible.

Does anyone know why?
My first thought was that the number of positions was to big (I started with 1014 points), so I tried to reduce the position count with the built-in tools. I reduced to route to 498 points but still I get the route cut off on the same place as for the route with 1014 point.

Any suggestions on how to make proceed?

Thanks in advance. Also thanks for a great tool!!!!

Hi crapmaster, welcome in this forum!

Is the cut off very early in your route? Then, you might try to reduce the number of route points, further.
My TomTom navigation device has a limit of 48 points for route planning purposes.

Best regards,

Hi!

Thanks for the response. The cut off is approx 1/3 into the route.
I will try your suggestion and limit the number of points further.
If I manage to find the limit I'll post it here.
