.kmz file format not detected
#1
The attached .kmz file produces a 'format not detected' error dialogue in RouteConverter 1.32 running under Windows XP, as may be seen in the attached jpeg pic.

.zip   Halletts Beach - Smiths Creek.kmz.zip (Size: 23.03 KB / Downloads: 819)

Could someone advise how I might be able to resolve what the issue may be.

The .kmz files opens OK in Google Earth; thus it appears to be a work

The file itself was generated by a Navionics app running on an iPhone3G.

Hi d101au,

thank you for reporting a 2,5 year old bug which is affecting very rarely used constructs of KML-files. Please try the current prerelease which works fine for me.

Just a note further to the above - I note when I view the converted output from the KML file I attached that there appears to be some sort of HTML artefact tacked on incorporated into the Waypoint name. Would it be correct for me to assume this artefact is likely to have been inserted by the iPhone app.

Also as my end intention is to obtain a file in a format that can be imported directly by a Raymarine Chartplotter that uses a proprietary .fsh format, it is interesting to note that Raymarine provide a conversion program for this format from a .csv formatted file. A link to this program can be found at:
http://www.raymarine.com/default.aspx?Pa...;Section=3

Is there sufficient information in this program, the example spreadsheet and the user guide PDF to develop a direct conversion option for RouteConverter?

Yes.

Please note: I have splitted this thread to separate the Raymarine Chartplotter discussion from this .kmz bug discussion.
