Blank canvas / V3.7, V3.3, V3.0
#1
Screenshot 2026-10-25 at 2.03.36 AM.png    I have been successful using TimeAlbumPro to tag my photos using data collected from the Columbus V-990. About 10 days ago I started getting JAVA errors and the whole canvas when I start TimeAlbumPro is blank.

I removed all traces of JAVA and re-installed the latest version but still have a blank canvas, no map, and no waypoint list. I even tried previous versions and all display a blank screen.

I can read in the ( .csv ) file from the V990 and save in multiple output formats. I have reverted to reading in the ( .csv ) file and exporting to ( .gpx ) so I can use the ( exiftool ) which will read ( .gpx ) files to tag my photos.

See the attached thumbnail to view what I am seeing.

Please use Help/Send Error Report… I hope I can get some insights from analyzing that.

As requested, I sent the Error Report.

Thanks for the error report. The log looks completely normal: TimeAlbum Pro starts, loads the map, builds the map and the position list, and reports no errors. So the program thinks it painted the window, but nothing reaches the screen. Since 3.0, 3.3 and 3.7 all behave the same and it started about 10 days ago, I suspect macOS 27 and the way Java draws windows on the Mac (Metal).

Could you please open Terminal and run:

JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS="-Dsun.java2d.metal=false" /Applications/TimeAlbumPro.app/Contents/MacOS/TimeAlbumPro

(adjust the path if the app isn’t in Applications). Do you see the map and the position list now?

Please also start it once without that option:

/Applications/TimeAlbumPro.app/Contents/MacOS/TimeAlbumPro

and copy the text Terminal prints into this thread. Those are probably the “Java errors” you saw; they don’t end up in the error report.

And when did you update to macOS 27?
