I tried to edit the few 0 elevation items in a large listing of a track where I simply could NOT get elevation information from the connection to GeoNames. I even tried to split the file into three parts, so that the 8 of 9 entries without elevation data were in their own file. I then tried to download the elevation data for those 9 points and still got 0m for the 8 of 9 that were missing values. After several attempts I tried to manually change the 0m to the average value using the values before and after these 0m entries. The change from 0m to 181m would NOT stay in the field, and the field reverted to 0m in every case. Is there a way to do this IN RouteConverter, or do I need to do it using a text file or hex editor in the saved gpx file?
