The previous attempt was without gpsbabel.

Today I compiled gpsbabel and tried. In options dialog (the 'path to gpsbabel') a chose "/tmp/gpsbabel-1.4.4". It didn't work. Then i tried "/tmp/gpsbabel-1.4.4/gpsbabel", which is correct.
