There are two issues to solve:
- GateKeeper - see Download page
- Java 6/7 - if you have both installed, Java 6 is used
I already pointed out, the problem was indeed the 'Gatekeeper' issue and I now have it running.
But, the first error message and refusal to run stated that I needed Java 6. I already had the LATEST Java 7, so why is it asking for 6?
Then when I installed Java 6, I was told RouteConverter was damaged and should be thrown in the Trash.
I then played with the security settings (referred to as Gatekeeper, but no longer called that in Mavericks) and enabled it to run.
My point is that the error messages are entirely misleading. Would it have run with just Java 7? I've no idea because the error message stated Java 6 was REQUIRED and the instructions to get around the Gatekeeper issue made no mention of the symptoms. Just that RouteConverter won't run. A mention of the expected errors would have helped.
So, it is no longer a problem for me as RouteConverter is now running, but troubleshooting would have been simpler had the errors been more accurate and the workaround more explicit.
