Hi,
move the mouse curser to the highlighted line in the position list, press 'Ctrl' key at keyboard, keep it pressed and click left mouse button. Highlighting should disappear and the marker should vanish at well.
Be also aware of a option to disable the 'focus map to marker' function:
Menu Extras -> Options -> Tab 'Map' -> uncheck 'Center map to selected positions after zooming'.
