This is an ongoing problem that results in extreme anger (with Google) every year. In the winter I (try to) plan the routes for the following summer's motorcycle tour. But in their infinite wisdom, the map/route providers (Google and Apple are at fault) make the decision that as it is winter and Alpine passes impassable due to the snow, they will simply NOT allow you to plan a route on roads that suffers from snow in this way, even though you will be perfectly able to use it when you actually need to, i.e. the summer. Try and plot a route e.g. over the Stelvio Pass in Italy in Winter (even now) and neither Apple, nor Google maps ( and by association Route Converter) will route aver the pass. This sort of ridiculous routing can add hundreds of miles as it routes you around the obstacle - Alpine mountain in this case.
Is there any way in which to turn OFF Google's dumb routing so it routes wherever you specify and ignores any possible winter warnings? Surely there must be a way to turn off this aggravating behaviour that makes it impossible to achieve what should be so easy to accomplish.
How can I turn this off. There must be a way.
