<sym> in GPX file

Is there a way to add or edit the (optional) <sym> metadata for a waypoint ?

If it is present in the inpuit file, I saw that it is saved, but don't found anyway to display or edit it.

It is preserved, but not editable in the UI.

<name> and <desc> are implicitely supported by dividing the description with a semicolon ; like this

<name>;<desc>
