The layout of 1.33 will have a short life. You just called out one of the reasons.
The layout of upcoming 1.34 is visible in the current prerelease.
Just try it, if not already done. The windows version appears to be stable.
Important buttons are still at the main screen.
The height profile is located below the map. Many users requested this.
Right mouse click works at the map and at the position list.
Load/Save and special functions are available by menu.
The 3 meters do *not* mean the distance! Here, the Ramer–Douglas–Peucker algorithm is used to reduce the number of points in a curve (i.e. a track) by removing all points that won't change the shape of the curve in a given corridor.
