You could use different position lists for this.

The reason why I denied implementing this is that

• the number of positions is limited due to browser instabilities
  
• thus the number of positions per positionlist that could be used to represent a positionly would be significantly (i.e. visibly) reduced
  
• it's hard to design a UI that's understandable for first time users
  

Add the option to duplicate a position list.

Did you try the prerelease which allows to copy-paste all positions of a position list (i.e. into another position list)?

And add for each position list the check box option "show on map".

That's a good idea addressing the first of my objections listed above. The others still remain.

Currently I think a decent undo/redo functionality could be sufficient, too. What do you think?
