Option for feet and miles?

I found the link in the FAQ, 'How do I activate the expert options?' but I'm not fully clear on the answer! Presumably I just run the REG file. But is it then possible to easily revert to the 'non-expert' GUI if I want? Or must I rely on backing up my registry (or doing a System Restore) before I try expert mode?
