I have no window to indicate the position of the cursor when I do that...
There are experimental features in Google Maps Labs that show the LatLng information when you press the Shift keys. Would that help?

When you double click into a cell of the position list table, only the corresponding row is selected. From a user interaction design perspective it doesn't make sense to keep the other row selected then. And for your use case that means that the user would lose the overview which rows are affected by moving them relatively to a reference point.

That's a minor problem to enhance RouteConverter to detect some 53 23' 45'' format.
