Settings are reseted after Java update
#1
Hello!

I've been using Route Converter for Windows for quite a while and everything was fine. But a day or two ago I routinely updated Java, and after that I noticed that basically all settings in Route Converter have been reseted to their defaults - from window size to recent files list to columns in positionlist to themes and colours etc.
Is that how it is supposed to be after Java update? And if so, where are those settings stored, so I could backup them in case of this happening again?

My current versions (as displayed in About box).
RouteConverter Version: RouteConverter OpenSource Edition 2.32 from September 10, 2022
Java Version: Oracle Corporation Java 1.8.0_371 (64-bit)

Could it be that you've switched, without being aware of it, from 32 to 64-bit Java?

I don't think so. My system has been 64-bit for a long time, and I usually update Java whenever there's an update pending - so, I guess, it should've been 64-bit, too, for quite a number of versions already.

No, and I have no idea what happened on your machine.

I've never heard of this before in 15 years. You can find the preferences in the registry below
