Problem with Google Maps Links
#1
I seem to be having a problem that may be a bug or an operator problem. I will explain what I do and then what result I get.

I Open Google Maps and get my directions. I drag the route to where I want to go. Then I drag the link to the waypoint list. Often when I do this, the waypoints are not even close to being in the correct place. Sometimes one is correct and the other is not.

I have noticed that any waypoints that are created due to dragging the route around in Google Maps show up correctly. It seems that the start and stop points do not come over correctly most of the time.

Any ideas?

Hi Michael,

I have to reduce the number of positions to not crash the browser.
If you have more than 240 positions, this might lead to positions
In the list which have no representation on the map.

Could this be your problem?

I have problems with as little as one start and one end point. Not others. The only time it works is when I actually add a waypoint.

You're starting with a file containing two positions and get errors?

Yes...that is correct.

Here is an example of a Google Maps link. This does not work for me when I attempt the conversion. Note: I am using v1.19

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&ge...8&t=h&z=10

This is suppost to be a map from the War Memorial in Johnstown, PA to the Carnegie Museums in Pittsburgh.

Why I try this, it puts the end point at the wrong geographical location. It also has the waypoint descriptions wrong.

Hi Mike,

thank your for reporting this bug. I've create a new prerelease version 1.19.7 that solves the problem for me. Please test and report.

Thank you for looking into this. Well...my results are as follows:

1 - The test with 2 points (The link I first sent) worked great.
2 - When I drag the route on Google Maps to force a specific route, I get the following link:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=32...8&t=h&z=10

Then I try this one...The order of the waypoints is messed up. And also....waypoint number 1 is not where I placed the waypoint on Google Maps.

And...if you are interested in more "bug information", I can tell you that often the buttons on the right are not visible for me unless I reposition the center divide between the maps and the waypoint list.

Thanks again.

Sigh. I hoped to have that fixed with the latest prerelease.
