speeds and time

Can anyone explain why route journey time estimates in Route Converter are substantially longer (~+25%) than those estimated by Bing maps, say? Can this behaviour be altered in Route Converter?
As an example in the UK, postcode SO16 3GA to NG23 5NB, is a journey time of 3 hours (from my experience), which Bing Maps agrees with, but Route Converter says 3 hours 53 minutes.
I have noticed similar large differences between Bing and RC for routes in the USA.

If the routing profile are the same (car, bike, feet) then you observation is a difference between Bing Maps and Google Maps (which RouteConverter uses internally).

In Google Maps the example journey by car is 3 hours 11 minutes.
So I am still confused by the 3 hours 53 minutes given by RC.
Is the 'routing profile' (car, bike etc.) a parameter setting in RC or must this be provided in the GPX file? I used http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert_inp...format=gpx to convert my lat/longs to GPX but I saw no mention of car/bike.

Look into RC menu 'Extras' -> 'Options'.

You'll find a section 'Plan routes for...' with different options.

Thanks Mattias
Problem solved by deselecting the Avoid Highways and Avoid Tolls options (which were producing long routes).
