javafreie Version of route converter
#1
Hi,

I like your tool but it is not usable under linux, because of the securty vulnerabilities of Java Runtime or openjdk and the dependencies of the latters.

Under linux, it is not possible to start your tool out of the box. Furthermore it does not show the map, which is maybe because of google limitations to access their databases.

So could you please make a statement to both of my inquiries?

1. Java alternative
2. Out of the box routeconverter in Linux not working.

Thank you.

Cheers!

Then help to fix it. I'm not using RouteConverter on Linux anymore.

What exactly are you referring to? My advice is to keep Java always on the latest version and remove/disable the Java Plugin from the web browsers.

If the map does not display it's because
  • libwebkit 1.0 is not installed when using the Eclipse SWT-based map
  • Oracle JDK is not used when using the JavaFX-based map

1. Java alternative

There will never be a non-Java based RouteConverter. Simply makes no sense due to required effort, portability, touch devices replacing desktops etc.
