It would be very useful if we could enter/edit data in the "Description" <desc> and "Comment" <cmt> fields in GPX files using the position list.
Maximising the position list and using it like a spreadsheet (table) would be a very efficient way of entering data in these fields, I currently use Locus on a tablet to enter descriptions and it's really slow.

There is a bit of magic in RouteConverter: a "Description" that contains a semicolon (

) is interpreted as <name> until the semicolon and <description> after the semicolon. <cmt> is ignored except for the search for various speed notations like "1.4 Km/h" and "Speed: 5.2 km/h" from TripMaster, QStarz and SportsTracker.

Nice one! I'll try that.
I'm using Locus which allows you to type data into <name> and <desc> but only displays <cmt>. Just have to remember not to include semi-colons in point names.
The job I'm attempting is to load lots of waypoints into a spreadsheet so I can manipulate <name>, <desc> and <cmt> fields and then export back into Locus - you wouldn't believe the trouble I'm having to do this efficiently! In this regard I'll be putting another suggestion forward - as if you didn't have enough to do already!
