Most important part of this reply is at the end!
1. I checked OSM without virusscan/ firewall running: no difference. But...from time to time OSM starts working more or less, also with virusscan/firewall 'on'.
Very strange thing: when I change from Hike Symbols to OSM, OSM displays correctly, although only the exact exactly the hike-symbols dimensions screen. Outside that specific screen: nothing (no zooming out). But zooming in is also not possible (fuzzy screen).
Still I can use this trick more or less as some kind of 'workaround'...or fall back on an older RC with Eclipse still 'on-board'.
2.Problems are growing worse: RC2.23.3 does not display any map at all. RC23.3 also starts havings problems with other maps.
>>>>>>> I now am suspecting my own PC from causing troubles: maybe the OSM-Java-Nvidia interaction. So may be we better pause this thread till I am sure that it's not an internal problem on my PC....<<<<<<
