Map image changed for the worse

I use the ArcGIS base layer most frequently as it is the most recent and useful satellite imagery in my region of the layers available in the platform. However, today the map changed to a much lower resolution image that is harder to use - I'm not sure if it "updated" (I don't know how RouteConverter -- ESRI interact), or changed for some other reason. Is there any way to restore the previous imagery?
