Open with... option not working as expected - V3.5

Hi Christian,

Just a small bug that seems to have appeared in 3.5-SNAPSHOT-103 from June 21, 2026;

If I right-click on a .CSV or .gpx file and select "Open with" and then choose RouteConverter - the RouteConverter program launches but does not open the file that I initially right-clicked on.
Hope that makes sense?

Once RouteConverter has launched, I can then go into File > Open... and select the .CSV or .gpx file and the route file opens as expected.

The "right-click > Open with" process always worked on previous versions, however this version (3.5-SANPSHOT-103) doesn't seem to be working.

I am using an iMac M4.
RouteConverter has full disk access.

when writing this there is 3.5-Snapshot-270 from July 16, 2026.
Please download and try the most recent prerelease, and report back if the bug still exists.

The only pre-release version I can find is 3.5-Snapshot-305 from July 21, 2026 and the bug still exists in this version.

Hi Simon,
just a few words to your user name: IMHO it is a bad decision to use a EMail address as user name in a forum. SPAM mails can easily be written from anyone (or any bot) who reads such a user name.

Thanks for the clear report and for testing the newer prerelease — that helped a lot.

You found a real regression. In a June build I replaced the macOS app launcher, and the new one didn't pass the file through when you use Open with… on a cold
start (the app launched but never received the document). That's why File → Open still worked but the right-click route didn't.

It's now fixed: the launcher again picks up the file you open it with (both when RouteConverter is already running and when it's started fresh), for .gpx,
.csv and the other formats.

The fix is in the code now and will be in the next prerelease (a Snapshot newer than 3.5-Snapshot-305). Once it's available, please download it and try your
right-click Open with… → RouteConverter again on a .csv and a .gpx, and let me know it works for you.

I'll keep an eye out for it and let you know how I go.

Also - relating to the User who commented about my user name being my email address - is it possible to change my User Name from my email address to something like SimonModra or similar?

The regression where "Open with → RouteConverter" (and double-clicking a file, or dropping it on the app icon) launched the app but didn't load the file on
macOS is fixed. It was caused by a change to how the Mac app is launched; the launcher no longer received the file from Finder on a cold start.

It now works whether RouteConverter is already running or started fresh, for .gpx, .csv and the other supported formats.

The fix is in the latest prerelease (Snapshot newer than 3.5-Snapshot-305). Please download it, try your right-click Open with… → RouteConverter on a .csv and
a .gpx, and let me know it works for you.

I have installed 3.5-Snapshot-330 from July 24, 2026 and the bug is now resolved!
Open with ... is now working as expected.
