You're not the first to report his. But I still have no idea where it comes from.

Maybe a "Refresh Map" key is required - F5?

I always wanted to avoid that since I believe it's an unnecessary action that the program demands from the user.

The latter would be a way of overcoming the former, not perfect I know but at least it would get round the problem

I think this may be a video card/driver issue.

I've been doing a lot of moving windows around the screen and sometimes a line is left behind, minimising and restoring the window clears it.

I had a similar problem with CadStd (a CAD package) where the flash screen wouldn't clear. This followed a Windows upgrade and was cured by a video driver upgrade.

For the record by video card has an Nvidia chipset.
